The Flag of the United Mexican States : My girlfriend is in Mexico for the week. wrote my friend the Alchimst.Throughout history, the flag has changed 4 times, as the design of the coat of arms and the length-width ratios of the flag have been modified. However, the coat of arms has had the same features throughout: an eagle, holding a serpent in its talon, is perched on top of a prickly pear cactus; the cactus is situated on a rock that rises above a lake. The coat of arms is derived from an Aztec legend that their gods told them to build a city where they spot an eagle and a serpent, which is now Mexico City. The current national flag, the Fourth National Flag, is also used as the Mexican naval ensign by ships registered in Mexico.

Truly a wonderful shot. :   Hans isn't begging for life, but for bucks.Once upon a time ~2006 A.C., when Hans coudn't pay his MEDICARE-B anymore, he got in some troubles because they billed him for doctors, dentists, medicaments and everthing in full. Hans is a born Swiss, and old man you may say, since 2000 an US citizen. I need for now at least $261 to pay for MEDICARE-B ... please.Once upon a time ~1200 A.C., when the were no U.S.A. and also no Social Security, when people lived on the mercy of their Kings, Governors and other from God given authorities, when a life wasn't much worth, children unprotected, and often under awful circumstances, like their parents and every one else who didn't have money.A man from the Canton URI got in some troubles with the governor named Gessler (from Austria). He rejected to salute the hat of the governor which was placed in the village square of Altdorf in Helvetia, the name of Switzerland then.Tell protested in vain, begging him for God's sake not to require him to do this."I would rather die," he said."Thou and thy child shall both die if thou wilt not obey," replied Gessler.So Tell was led out into the village square. His son was placed before a tree, and an apple was laid on the child's head. All the people looked on in pity and fear, and murmured against the tyrant for this cruel plan.Tell prayed fervently to God to protect him and his loved boy. Then he took his crossbow, drew it, and placed the arrow upon it, put another into his jerkin, and shot at the apple. And behold! the apple was cleft clean in two, the arrow lodged in the tree behind, and the child stood forth unhurt. Truly that was a wonderful shot.

StoneHarpMan's URSUS MAYOR FLAG : UMa steht für 'Ursus Mayor' was mit 'grosser Bär' übersetzt werden kann.Aber LEIDER konnte ich diesen 'screen name' nicht haben, weil mir da ein anderer 'UMa' zuvorgekommen ist = http://www.bookcrossing.com/mybookshelf/UmaNun, geboren wurde ich in Zürich, der grössten Schweizer Stadt) aber Bern ist die Hauptstadt der Schweiz und dort wohnt mein mein Freund UMi (was 'Ursus Minor' übersetz werden kann).Heute halte ich mich 'körperlich' in den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika auf, 'geistig' bin ich aber meistens in Bern wo UMi wohnt welchen ich nun mit einem einzigen KLICK auf das Bildchen unten 'virtuell' besuchen kann.

Waldemar's URSUS MINOR FLAG : UMi steht für 'Ursus Minor' was mit 'kleiner Bär' übersetzt werden kann. Mein Wohnort ist Wabern (was mit Bern übersetzt werden kann, Bern ist die Hauptstadt der Schweiz). Früher war das anders, wie steht da unten:Am 26. August 1946 sah mich eine schweizerische die Welt zum ersten Mal, im Dorf Biel im Kanton Wallis. Doch schon im Januar 1947 wurde ich in die römische Welt verbracht und blieb in Rom bis Herbst 1961 - 14 Jahre lang.Ein Jahr im Internat Spiritus Sanctus in Brig; "interniert" und verurteilt zum Bestehen der Handelsmatura , begnadigt nach einem Jahr anpasserischer Versuche und aufgrund nachweisbarer Feigheit vor dem Feind (Pfaffen).Hochbauzeichner "Leere" in Bern. Seit 1991 (1. August) eigenes Architekturbüro in Bern. Wasserträgerfunktion bei verschiedensten Chefs und Bauherren. Einige von ihnen sitzen noch heute verkehrt herum auf dem Rad.
